Mount Tyson

Mount Tyson (687m) and Mount Mackay (723m) are two rainforest mountains which tower over the township of Tully.

You can enjoy the panoramic view of Tully and the surrounding cane fields and banana plantations stretching to the sea by climbing Mt Tyson.

Mount Tyson provides a climbing challenge reserved for the very fit. The climb is steep and will take two to three hours each way. Access to the walking track is from Brannigan Street in Tully at the base of the mountain. The track is well defined but extreme care should be taken. Walkers should check in with the ambulance station before and after climbing.
